Phoenix Farms

Organic Fruit

A wooden breadboard sits on a black marble counter. There is an old-fashioned rolling pin and a bowl of dark cherries near the two top corners of the board. On the board is rolled out pie dough with four scattered around it and two dark cherries on a leafed stem. The heading reads "Pie?" and the tag line is "Phoenis Farms Organic Friuit", and imaginary business.
A fancy strawberry cheesecake sits on a dardient spring green back ground along with two giant strawberries; on half and one whole one. The heading reads "Cheesecake?" and the tag line is "Phoenis Farms Organic Friuit", an imaginary business.
A clear plastic bottle of pomegranate juice is in the process of falling to a countertop where a whole pomegranate fruit and a section showing inside pips are already sitting. The heading reads "Juice?" and the tag line is "Phoenis Farms Organic Friuit", an imaginary business.

3/21/21

This week I have been working on the March PS challenges from Adobe. The first two exercises were branding examples, so I’ve decided to keep with the same theme. I hadn’t realized until I put all three together on this page that there was so much difference in the hues of the green. I may have to work on that . . .

My imaginary client has an organic fruit farm (and may add vegetables as the challenge goes on).  A very long time ago, we lived near a fruit orchard, so I thought I’d base my client on that. I couldn’t remember the name of the street we had lived on, so I called up an on-line map to jog my memory. What a change in fifty years!!! We lived on the other side of an expressway from town and at that time there were only a few houses, some farms, a meat packing plant and a dairy around us. On our side of the freeway it was mostly fields and pastures. The farm where I lived no longer exists. Every big box store you can think of is clustered around that freeway entrance for at least a mile out in either direction. The only thing sort of the same is the dairy, but I think that they probably don’t bottle milk anymore, although they still might make ice cream for their retail outlets. I haven’t been back in about twenty years. Who would have thought that a sleepy little blueberry town would grow so much? It’s just mind blowing.

Back to the images — The branding posters have been created with AdobeStock images and mockups, along with PixelSquid spinnable 3 -D objects. PixelSquid makes great fruit :-)

Take care and stay well. Don’t forget to wear your mask!
